VMI Rat swearing in ceremony at New Market

Yesterday the Rat swearing-in ceremony was conducted at the New Market battlefield followed by a parade thru the town of New Market. Congratulations to the Rat mass of 18+3 ( don't ask about the crazy terminology - it's another old VMI tradition- they aren't a class till breakout). But they have at least made it long enough to get their shoulder boards! One milestone down - a whole bunch still to come! [emoji50]

Love the tradition of this event. Especially the upper Classman that walk the 80 miles from VMI to New Market carrying the Rats shoulder boards. Gives me goosebumps.
