When do regular decision applicants typically find out if they've been appointed?
 
From VMI's site: "Regular decisions applicants will be notified on a rolling basis, no later than April 1."

I applied early action and found out I got in a little over 2 weeks ago. Since VMI operates on a rolling admissions board, the earlier you submit, the sooner you will find out. If you have submitted earlier than today you will likely find around late January or anytime in February.
 
DS finished his application about three weeks ago and got his acceptance today. He applies early action not early decision
 
I spoke with the Director of Admissions yesterday after receiving a letter claiming the application fee hadn't been paid, which it had been. He informed me there was a glitch in the relay of applicant information. DS's application is back in the channels, so I guess the wait will be a little longer.
 
My son received his acceptance to VMI yesterday as well. I believe that he was Regular Decision and completed his application mid-October (though not 100% sure of those details). Very nice letter and certificate arrived with instructions of more information to follow. We were all very impressed when we visited post in the Spring.

2 boys from his HS are Rat's there now, so he may try to attend an overnight visit if his schedule allows.

My son did the overnight on an open house weekend. The rat line had broken out the weekend before. It was a good experience, but think it may have been better to see the Rat line in person to really appreciate how hard that will be. They described it but I think it is another to actually see this first hand.
