VMI to march in Inauguration Parade

Got something to say?

Yep -- IMHO the officer that made the uniform decision for USAFA made a mistake. They should have let you guys march in your Parade uniform without the overcoat. White wheel hat on top with white trousers sticking out from below looked funky. Your "Parades" are the iconic Air Force Cadet uniform. If it is cold, wear long underwear -- not overcoat. Saw your practices on twitter. That paid off. Your marching looked good. Young lady with the guidon was outstanding.

I was more asking about the comment about wing staff marching, but I hear that feedback too. The decision wasn't made by USAFA, and that combo has appeared in the parade before. Trust me, though...I would have much rather ditched the coat too. That thing is heavy!

I think that more cadets & less wing staff should have marched. What do you think of the proportion that went?

Well, seeing as the wing staff are cadets, I think the 100% cadet formation was just fine.

There were a handful of cadets from last semester's wing staff who attended. Some were selected by their squadrons, and some were attached to the contingent as logistics/support/replacements in case somebody couldn't march the day of. 80 cadets were chosen by their squadrons, so I think the proportions were just fine.

LITS -- I thought USCGA and USMMA also looked very good.

What's fun about the Coast Guard is, in most groups, you'll see someone you know. For the non-CGA, non-band part I recognized some faces. The CG guy at the inauguration was two years behind me.

Small world!

My rat daughter was marching today, although I didn't see her in any of the broadcasts. But my heart was bursting wide pride! RAH VA MIL [emoji631]

Congrats @EOD/SEALmom!

Not sure who else was there, but the color company from USNA was marching as well.
