After about 100 no one really cares ( as someone with about 350) However you could ask your counselor to update your profile to include hours. What they really care about is not how many but the quality and leadership of them. What is the best way to inform/notify WP about the volunteer hours/community service??? Any suggestions? I just found out that we have 300 hours volunteer hours that was never conveyed to WP....
I agree. Honestly, I appreciate the work people who volunteer does, but it will seem forced if you constantly try and push it on the admissions people. It's a hard balance between remaining humble and confident. Yea it's understandable that you would want to show that you were team player and helped kit the community just make sure you are stressing that part to the counselor at USMA and not the amount.I was just wondering because no volunteer activity was conveyed to admissions.
Hey thx again for the feedback.....we r trying not to expect anything from WP this deep into the year; I'm feeling that we've been passed over too many times for WP's direct appt..........however, the kid did receive a falcon scholarship so he may run into you if you guys end up in the same prep school...are you from California and which prep r u leaning towards? Kid is prob gonna attend New Mexico....Yea it's understandable that you would want to show that you were team player and helped kit the community just make sure you are stressing that part to the counselor at USMA and not the amount.
I personally stressed on my USAFA application about how I ran most of the events ( Jrotc) because while I got alot of hours becuase I loved it that isn't the MAIN thing they're looking for. It's probably number two but not #1.
I'm going to Northwestern Prep in California. I'm from IL. I've heard get things from both New Mexico and Northwestern Prep but for me Northwestern felt more where I belonged when I talk to the Mrs. Durbeck. If he does choose New Mexico we can compare prep schools on I-day! Otherwise he can look for the girl who actually enjoys the morning runs.... that'll be me lol.Hey thx again for the feedback.....we r trying not to expect anything from WP this deep into the year; I'm feeling that we've been passed over too many times for WP's direct appt..........however, the kid did receive a falcon scholarship so he may run into you if you guys end up in the same prep school...are you from California and which prep r u leaning towards?
