So did anyone receive and email confirmation after filling out the form and hitting submit? My son did not and I find that strange in today's day and time when you receive a confirmation for everything you do it seems. In fact, he swears he filled it out months ago but because he didn't have a confirmation in his email he completed the form again this weekend. Still no email so now we are thinking he's filled it out twice and possibly not exactly the same with the answers to some of the subjective items (hobbies, goals). Just curious what others thoughts are on this.

I'm in the same boat. Submitted an application weeks ago, but never got a confirmation. From what i've read on this forum, people receive a notification at some point, but it's not a timely response.

Please don't obsess about the VP nom. It is typically used for "special purposes" like Americans living abroad and while all applicants are urged to put in for it,
it is more of a motivation/instruction following thing rather than a realistic path considering that there are literally over ten thousand applicants.

My son didn’t want to apply once he secured his noms from MOC. He still has one more Senator interview.

His rationale was basically what you said. My reasoning to apply was the more noms he gets, the better his chances with his LOA and color blind problem.

@Potter2023 it took about a month for me to receive a confirmation email from USNA that they recognize my application for a VP nom. The chances are slim, but it’s always important to apply for all nominations you are eligible for.

It’s more important you apply for it to show initiative, because RetSWO is right, it’s usually used for international applicants.

Actually, true international applicants - citizens of other countries do not need traditional nominations. I was referring to Americans living abroad -
US citizens who live abroad for whatever reason but often it is civilian jobs overseas or US gov't civilians such as State Dept and the like.

DD received correspondence after her VP nom application was received. I believe it was snail mail basic form letter saying we got your application please be sure you apply to the service academy. We do not live abroad but she did the application anyway at the strong recommendation from her BGO

We certainly are not obsessing about it. He is just wanting to make sure it's submitted and found it odd he did not receive any email confirmation and now slightly concerned he's submitted it twice.

Mine always got an email eventually, but usually months and month after they submitted the application.
