At the 600 points mark for the W.C.S.'s A.A.S. scoring rubric it says

"Captain of team (other than baseball/softball, basketball, or football). Varsity letter in baseball/softball, basketball or football. Varsity letter in two or more sports (other than baseball/softball, basketball, or football).".

To be clear, to get the 600 points do you have to meet all these criteria or at least one of the said prerequisites? Thank you so much for all of your help!

No one knows for sure other than the admissions office. I have a pretty good guess on where you got scoring rubric. If I am correct, we cannot confirm if it is still good or not. Another thing you have to keep in mind is unless you have a Presidential nomination or on the national waiting list, your WCS alone will not determine your chance of an appointment. You could have 7000 WCS score, but another candidate in your Congressional district has 7001, you won't get the Congressional appointment.

I think its best to use the Rand report as a reference. In the above example, it is better to be Captain of the football team than say the golf team but if you letter in more than one sport or Captain of more than one of the less prestige sports, admission looks more favorably. I think the intent is any of these things. As said before, no one knows the secret formula but the report gives you an idea how activities are looked at.

For a sport with 2 or more high school captains, would a student write co-captain or captain on his resume? Is being a sole primary captain of a team worth more points than being a co-captain with others? Just curious.

My DD listed just Captain. I doubt they distinguish because most teams I'm familiar with have multiple Captains.
