Here is my situation. I took spanish 2 and 3 in my local community college to get the course done with. I took spanish 2 (really easy professor) and got a B in it. Then I took spanish 3 and obviously was unprepared. The bad part was that I was way too over myself and didn't drop the class until I realized that it was impossible to get higher than an F, so I decided to drop the class with a W. I took 2 other classes plus another class I am taking right now and so i've gotten 2 A's and 1 B. (Assuming I get an A in English 101). Like I said I took spanish 2 and Fundamental Comp. Programming. I am planning to take an advanced physics course this fall, and I was wondering how much that W would affect me. I now realize the gravity of the situation and I don't feel very comfortable with the W coming back to haunt me. How could I possibly explain this to the academy?

by the way I took spanish 3 at my high school and got a B. Has that got any effect on it?

Are you going to be a High School senior or are you in college? If you are going to be a high school senior, and you're taking additional college classes, then the college classes will pretty much only help you. (You aren't EXPECTED to take college classes). If you are a college student, then they will look closer at the classes. Just talk to your ALO and probably include an explanation to them.

jarvin. Remember that you must just let it all out! Send your transcripts, speak to our ALO, and let it go. Your ALO will give you good advice. Focus your attention on those things that you can control. Start training for CFA and move your thoughts on to other things. Good Luck!

CC is correct: you're a HIGH SCHOOL student. ANY college classes you take are a "bonus" and while they may show "college potential" they are NOT going to hurt you unless you present some "F" grades. That would NOT be good.

A "withdraw" grade simply means you decided to NOT continue the class. Nothing is implied by it and I, as an ALO, might ask about it but it's not going to color my opinion of your performance. I'm MORE interested in what classes you're taking in school, what else you're doing, etc...etc...

Worry not, continue to focus on the end target: appointment, and work on those things that are still in your control: grades, test scores, etc.

Whew thanks for the replies. I couldn't sleep last night because of this irritating W on my college transcript. Anyways I'll get on to contacting my ALO and I need to work on my nomination. Thanks for you suggestion guys.
