W2

DS is MSI and completed first semester (contracted, scholarship). I asked him for his w2 and he said the MyPay system does not show him having a W2. He is getting paid and the pay stubs do show on the system. Would he get a W2? Are theses delayed for some? Thanks

You shouldn't get a W2 because the stipends are not taxable, and neither is the scholarship money or the book money. So don't worry about it.

I knew the amounts were not taxable. I was just wondering if he would get a W2 regardless if the money was not taxed.

Yeah I've never gotten a W2 over my four years of ROTC, so the ROTC money doesn't even show up on my tax return.

My MS2 went to CIET last summer. He got a W2 for that pay - it is taxable.

Any money received for CIET, CLC or CULP is taxable.

Sorry about not mentioning the summer training piece - AFROTC cadets didn't get paid for summer training my year so I never ran into it.
