Wait list process

Does anyone know how people are informed of appointments off of the wait list? I've heard bears den, email, and phone call so I'm just curious if anyone knows which it is.

I have heard that it if you are taken off the wait list you will receive a phone call.

Phone call. If no phone call, final letter in June stating the the process has been completed.
