Wait Listed to VT...

Received the national NROTC scholarship but was wait listed to the school they put me at - Virginia Tech... Would this have potential to take me off the wait list?
 
Might be worth a couple of calls to admissions and the NROTC office in Blacksburg. VT was a tough “get” this year. They had over committed in past years and didn’t have enough Freshman housing. Couldn’t hurt to contact them and let them know that Uncle Sam will be paying your tuition.

So with that being said, you think they may have gone under since they’ve overcommitted in previous years?
 
Yes, that’s what is being circulated on other “traditional college” forums. Reportedly they under-accepted during ED and EA with the thought of filling the ranks later with those who were deferred. I followed this fairly closely as this was one of my son’s alternate Plan B schools. Hope you do get in, we had a daughter attend and it’s a great place. Good luck.
 
That was painful to watch when they over-offered and miscalculated the number of acceptances.
 
Some kids were housed in the Holiday Inn across from campus and the (luxury) VT Inn and Conference Center.
