I think you’ll need to ask a little more detailed question in order to get a good answer. A wait list for what? A nomination? An appointment? If an appointment, which Academy, and what is the candidate’s status? No one can give a clear answer to an unclear question.

My bad, I am talking about a waiting list for a nomination. What happens if a candidate doesn’t receive a nomination.

If a candidate does not receive a nomination, then they do not have everything they need to be offered an appointment (except USCGA, of course). At the DOD SAs, the Supe has a handful of discretionary noms, and there is the shot at the VP nom. I am always hazier about USMMA and their “nom locker.”

There is always hope, until there is not.
