FPMOM,
It has been years since I saw the pull down tabs, but if I recall correctly the candidates had to pull down the tab for intended major. They also had pull down tabs for college choices.
I would have her contact the PMS and ask directly if Bio at her school is classified as tech.
~ There have been posters here that in the computer major world was seen as tech at one college, but at another college when they looked at the curriculum HQ AFROTC deemed it non tech.
As far as converting type 7 to type 2. Contact the cadre or bursar. Some colleges will consider ROTC scholarship students as IS even if OOS. That is the answer you need right now. Is she as an AFROTC scholarship candidate being charged IS rates or OOS rates?
I get they are going to pick up the bill as a freshmen, but AFROTC is very specific. If they charge IS rates than there is no need to convert.
I would also look into what their selection rate for SFT has been for the last three years....above, below or on oar for the national. Than ask what the avg cgpa and PFT were for those selected.
~ AFROTC scholarship cadets only need a 2.5 to maintain the scholarship but realistically even tech majors need @3.0
