Any insight would be great as I am new to the military world! My DS received a LOA in early Oct. It took us awhile to figure out what it was. When he took his physical for DoMerb the Dr. said he should not have any problem. We recently received a letter from DoMerb requesting all his medical records since age 10! When my DS was a child he had a cough that sounded like a deep "croup" cough anytime he caught a cold. We have access to very throrough medical resources. He had numerous tests done to make sure it was nothing life threatening. In the end everyone had a different opinion. One said reactive airway, one said allergies, one said acid reflux, etc. the last doctor said it might have been a vocal chord issue. The only time he gets a cough is if he has a cold just like everyone else in the population. My Son is team captain of both the football and wrestling teams and takes no medication for anything and has a sworn statement from a pulminologist that this young man does not have asthma. The problem I think is that the records I sent to DoMerb contain words like GERD, etc. from 4 or 5 years ago.
Will this young man get a chance to go to USNA?????

At this point all you can do is send the requested records in. Last year my son received a remedial that requested all records. We submitted them and about 2 weeks later he was qualified. Good luck.

DodMerb waiver from USNA

DD recieved a waiver from USNA which is good news, although we were wondering if this means if this is a positive sign for her application. She also attended CVW. Not a recruited athlete. Thanks!

bumper57 if I remember correctly I believe USNA will only grant a waiver if they are prepared to make an offer of an appointment. So I would think it is a good thing:thumb:

Would you mind sending me a PM and sharing when your DD submitted his application and what his medical condition was, and any advice on handling the waiver?
