Waiting Room Fun

Question: DD gets call from BGO tonight, he did not have any appointment updates however told her that her application was recently reviewed and she qualifies academically, medically and athletically. What does that mean? does that point to wait list? does it mean nothing but what it says?
Yes --> "nothing but what it says." But just getting to 3Q is a significant threshold! (Our DS was 2Q with an LOA for an interminable time - excruciating! ;))

BGOs are not supposed to make calls like that. All it means right now is that she is one of approximately 4,000 candidates who are 3Q, hoping for a spot in the class.

I hear your pain; we've been waiting since early October. You just have to sit on your hands...It was a bummer to accidentally get the rejection letter and then another saying "oops, it was a mistake and you're still being considered". On a positive note though...our daughter did get accepted to a fairly hard school to get into (Tulane). She got offers to several others, but only one other even came close to the financial aid package she was offered. She is still short about $30K of a $78K price tag. (She only applied to private universities so that's probably why the high $$$). We were also strategic in where she applied and only applied to schools that offer her major/minor (need ocean area nearby) and also only schools that provided room/board for NROTC recipients. She also has several private scholarships pending too and I'm sure she'll get a few but not sure it will cover all the shortage. She's been working very hard and graduating a year early. Either way she'll be on her way with or without the scholarship - the scholarship will cover everything at Tulane so we're crossing fingers. We are hopeful the Navy comes through but if not, on to plan B. Things always work out the way they're supposed to for some reason....
Tulane is great school in an awesome city! Congrats on Plan B and fingers crossed for USNA Appointment!!

BGO's are NOT supposed to tell candidates. Just means they are still in the game.

The title of this thread is an oxymoron. Not many things feel "fun" at this point in the waiting game. "No news is good news" just doesn't seem true anymore and every time I get a spam phone call from an area code in my state I think it is my MOC calling to say congrats.... The wait must be over soon!

My DS was accepted to all his other applied schools and they want an answer so this does make the tension that much higher. I told him to wait until after the 15th. It seems admissions is going to be in a mad dash to process/review all these CPRs. Im sure they know what they are doing however there a LOT of CPRs out there with my DS and just 6-7 business days left. Let's hope the same scrutiny goes to review our kids as the last 8 months.

First, its not a "mad dash".. Appointments are trickling out ..I've seen changes in my portal in the last week or so. They will continue to trickle out until April 15. On or after April 15, it is more likely to be a decline or wait list (more waiting).

You can rest assured the scrutiny level is the same. It's probably safe to say that Admissions has reviewed everyone's application, at leaset once. Right now, they are in the process of finalizing the class. If you have been CPR since last fall, it is likely that the "scrutiny" was done long ago.

You're probably right I was just wait listed today. Hope all the other CPRs hear back soon!

most likely going to get waitlisted like everyone else, if the forum represents 10 percent of the class and it’s around 120 or so at the moment no doubt in my mind the list is either done or very close to it. Still CPR so we will see haha

Thank you sir, that is good to know. It would appear a good number of waitlists and declines went out today so things are moving along.
