Waiting...???

Well Said

profsparrow-My DS was also 'turned down' this year for USNA but was competitive to the end. I am extremely proud of him and others like him who have weathered this rigorous process where the selection of one over the other maybe hinders on a point more on an SAT, a waiver, a community project. Who really knows? All I know is that this is the process, and we accept it and move forward! Our DS will reapply if he feels that USNA is still his dream place to attain his goals, in a year:shake:
Until then, he will accept his appointment at another academy and start the process of becoming the man and officer we know he will be!!
Good Luck everyone and stay positive:smile:

Just an FYI (and I might be reading the last statement you posted all wrong), but once someone is sworn into any branch of the military or SA they would need that organization's permission to join another branch. I would find it difficult for another service academy to support, especially in their 4/c year, them applying to USNA. I am confident that the upper-class responsible for his training would not appreciate hearing his plan.

USNA1982 BGO- Thank you for your input it is very much appreciated. Please let me clarify as I do believe you misread it...this is not his plan..it is an 'if' As of right now, Sunday 3/25/12, he has not accepted anything. We believe he will accept his appointment and commit to it fully as this option was his well researched second choice. There are other options, however, if he wants to still pursue a USNA appointment in a years time! Does that make better sense?
