Does anybody know if they pull from the waitlist by majors? For example let's say if an appointment for a GOV major opens, do they pull from the waitlist pool who selected the same major? Or do they consider pulling from other majors as well to fill that appointment?Essentially, it's an alternate pool. They don't keep a ranked list but instead are looking to round out the class. If you're wait listed it means the academy thinks you're qualified.
I don't know what your plan B is, but one thing to consider is going to one of the prep schools on your own dime. That way you can still have close contact with admissions, and you can be compared directly to CGAS students already enrolled.
Be advised that I'm the physics instructor at MMI, so take my advice with a grain of salt. If you choose to go through a different plan B route, you can still achieve your goal of getting into the academy. Just remember to take courses that mirror the freshman year.
