I don't know what your plan B is, but one thing to consider is going to one of the prep schools on your own dime. That way you can still have close contact with admissions, and you can be compared directly to CGAS students already enrolled.

Be advised that I'm the physics instructor at MMI, so take my advice with a grain of salt. If you choose to go through a different plan B route, you can still achieve your goal of getting into the academy. Just remember to take courses that mirror the freshman year.

Does anybody know if they pull from the waitlist by majors? For example let's say if an appointment for a GOV major opens, do they pull from the waitlist pool who selected the same major? Or do they consider pulling from other majors as well to fill that appointment?

I accepted being on the waitlist for CGAS. I asked if I changed my major to a less popular major would it improve my chances. (Becuase honestly I'll change it to whatever the CG needs). The gist of what I was told was that the major I specified on my application will not have a bearing on selection from the wait-list pool. This implies there may be other factors they are weighting.
 
To anyone's knowledge, has anyone been pulled off the waitlist up to this point?
 
I texted with AO yesterday and he said at this point he could not even say with confidence if they were going to have use the waitlist. Fingers crossed.

According to the 2023 USCG acceptance list,

41) Fly2018/DS/8 May2019/Accepted (waitlist)/TX & ND

It looks like there were three candidates pulled from the 2023 wait list according to this site. I didn't see anyone pulled from the 2024 list. And it looks like they were all appointed on May 8, 2019.

Nobody got pulled off the waitlist in 2024, but CAPT Fredie came down to MMI for the SAP Convocation and confirmed that they will indeed be pulling from the waitlist this year.

That is encouraging. Any idea how many applicants are on the wait-list?
If there are 200 wait-listed applicants we have a 20% chance,
but if there are only 40 applicants on the wait-list, then awesome we have a 100% chance.

My highschool graduation is tonight, I sure would have loved to know something one way or another so my destination could be listed on the program.
But like I have said repeatedly I wait all the way to June 28 if I have to...Semper Paratus
