After turning in all the information (doctor's reports, etc.) necessary for a waiver, how long does it usually take for DoDMERB to reach a decision and grant the waiver?

2 weeks to 6 months. The timing is all over the place. Most likely it will be in the 1-2 month range.

If you haven't already done so, I recommend reading through the DODMERB forum to glean insight.

In general, DODMERB's role is to Q or DQ per existing accession guidelines, and be the central clearinghouse and collator for additional info requested.

The SA grants or does not grant the waiver.

Length of time will vary with the complexity of the case and the case review docket.

Not helpful, I know, to your specific question. Internal to the process, "they" will be working hard to clear the waiver actions, make decisions and get on with filling out the class.

Yes, hurry up and wait. My DS just found out last week that he had a waiver granted successfully after 3 months! As a result he is supposed to have his app in front of the selection committee today! he also has an LOA so the final piece should be the medical waiver that was just approved. He had two issues that were involved for medical but both cleared!! I understand the wait is agonizing. Keep the faith...
