I still have braces on and am not completely sure when they'll come off, though certainly sometime before June. DoDMERB came back and said something to the effect that they can't un-DQ me until I can tell them that my braces are off?

Does this mean I'm not eligible for an appointment and should have them taken off immediately?

And can someone please explain to me what the big deal is with braces anyway and why they DQ me?!?! Goodness gracious this is annoying. . .

Thanks.

Here is the contact info for Mr. Mullen.... Send him an email!

If you have any questions regarding DoDMERB about policies, procedures, your specific case (I will have to verify who you are), or anything else, I am the DoDMERB official to provide you a response. I'm always available and in most cases, will respond immediately, but will respond within 24 hours on all cases.

My email address is ALWAYS open. I'm the DoDMERB Bureaucrat Buster. Give me a chance:) Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil

Now that I've been at this for a while, I "usually" log in late at night and several times throughout the weekend. The issue is the fact that this is not an "official" site and the USAF maintains a very high level of internet security. So, I can't access the site from work---I must log in from home.

Thx in advance for your understanding, patience., and the opportunity to assist you

braces

I am currently applying to the USNA. I got disqualified for braces. My braces were put on at the urging of my parents and they are not medically required. I am considering having the braces removed. Since I do not require them and there would be no follow up procedures would my disqualification be reversed?

Folks...you all have similar questions but...NONE of us here can answer the question you ask: only Mr. Mullen can.

Send to him as he requests...I've worked with him on an issue here; he's VERY fast and VERY good!
