I have a question about getting a waiver. I went through chemotherapy in 2015 for lymphoma, since then I’ve been cancer free wit other issues. What is the likelihood I’ll receive a waiver? I’m doing the Green to Gold Non-Scholarship option at Georgia State.

We have a close friend who just got a medical waiver for rotc after lymphoma at age 14. He had to wait until the 5 year mark of being medically declared cancer free. He did his first year at college rotc non contract non scholarship. Waiver was granted in March of freshman year. His last 3 years of college will be scholarship rotc now that he has the medical waiver. I think 5 years was the magic number. Check with your local rotc for waiver details. Every medical condition Is unique.

Thank you soo much for responding. I’m praying since I’m close to five years they will give me the waiver. My ROTC program doesn’t know much about getting a waiver for this type of situation.
