I am joining AFROTC on a type-1 this upcoming fall and need a qualifying DoDMERB to contract of course. The only remedial I have remaining on my DoDMERB is a “history of headaches that affected my performance or required prescription medication within the last two years”, which is almost the same phrasing as DoDMERB uses.

This is just wrong, neither of those statements about my headaches are true, and I included a statement from my JROTC instructor, who I was around almost all day for the last three years, that stated they never affected my performance. Also, the last prescription medication I took for them was in 2016.

I just got another AMI requesting all medical records, but there is almost nothing on it? It feels like I am speaking to a computer that doesn’t understand that some miscommunication happened during my initial physical and I can’t explain my situation to anyone.

Any suggestions? Thank you!

I know I'm not supposed to post on this thread, but if you haven't had a script filled in five years, how did the headache and "treated with medication" topic end up as an issue on your medical history or physical exam?

Mr Mullen posted on another thread that he is tied up today but is having a colleague answer his emails. I would follow his emailing instructions (available on many threads here) and contact him.

It’s from the original medical history I filled out. On there, I checked two boxes saying “Frequent or sever headaches, including migraines” and “Taking medication to prevent migraines”. It asked for any history of, not just my current conditions, and I wanted to answer everything truthfully.
Now I’m stuck with the system thinking I have had issues in the past two years and I really don’t know how they decided that time frame, it was all five or six years back.

Thank you for the tip, I appreciate it and will do.

That’s what I thought happened. I would never recommend not being truthful but you answered the history of part, but the rest of the requirements may have kept you out of the quagmire if you had known.
As usual of course, Mr. Mullen will have the official answer.

Daughter was denied due to previous headaches- has a AROTC 4yr scholarship- both her pediatrician and neurologist submitted letters stating that she has never had any restrictions due to headaches. How long does the waiver generally take? She is nervous that it will be denied. Any info would be helpful.

Mr. Mullen has in the recent passed stepped away from the SAF forum as he champions the DODMERB applications through a successful adjudication. I do not speak for him, don't know him - just trying to help you as a candidate understand your daughter should reach out to DODMERB directly with your questions.
