Waiver in process?

In late December DoDMERB notified me of a disqualifying condition. When I asked my RC whether USMA will request waiver, he replied that he will "sign the waiver to initiate when it arrives to his desk." I am not sure if that means my file is under review for a waiver. It seems like the decision is not up to him. Even now, after 2 months, my medical status remains "Disqualified" and DoDMERB continues to display "Pending waiver submission/review by USMA."

To those who are/were also medically disqualified:
Does the medical status change to "Requested Waiver" when the admissions officers forward my medical condition to the doctors at USMA for review or when USMA decides that my medical condition will not be a problem and requests a waiver to be granted to me?
If deemed medically unacceptable, will my files at USMA and DoDMERB automatically close, or would I have to wait to get my TWE?

Yes, when a waiver is requested your USMA portal will change to Waiver Requested. Your Dodmerb portal will remain as it is now unless a waiver is requested and then it will change to granted or denied.

Echo Teragram's reply. My DS received a letter in his portal stating that the waiver had been requested. Nothing changed in Dodmerb until it was actually approved. You'll see it in the portal before you'll see it in Dodmerb.
