I just received a message on my DODMERBS portal, I was flagged for D271.4. The DODMERBS portal says my status for USNA, USMA, and USAFA is "Current Medical Status: Under Waiver Review". Does this mean I'm in the process of receiving a waiver, or is admissions considering the process of granting me one?

I have that for USMA and ROTC, both of which have requested waivers for me. My waiver for USNA was granted by DODMERB so in the portal it says "waiver granted". So from what I've seen I think it means that the waiver authorities at DODMERB are reviewing a waiver for you. So that would mean that the academies have requested waivers for you. In the USMA portal it should say, as well as for USAFA as well.

Each of these SAs is considering whether or not to grant you a waiver. You are currently under waiver review by each of the SAs - according to what you have shared from the DODMERB portal. The statement you cite in the DODMERB portal does not tell you what the outcome of the waiver review will be - so, we can't tell you if you will or will not receive a waiver from one or more of the SAs where your medical DQ is under waiver review. Good luck.

Waivers are determined by the specific reviewing authority, not DODMERB. Information can/will be passed to the waiver authority by DODMERB.

Not quite.

DoDMERB is the shared info clearing house. They are not waiver authorities. They post information on decisions made by the Service waiver authorities assigned to the commissioning programs they support, who asked for a waiver decision from them.

Now that the DoDMERB TRICARE website is back up, go to the home page and read through every one of the left-hand menu items.

Could I possibly go to an allergist on my own and submit a test to DODMERBS. My allergy is in no way at all serve and I have ate peanuts in the past.

How do you know of a waiver has been requested by the academy?

Mr. Mullen -
Our son‘s medical came back disqualified for history of systematic allergic reaction to biting or stinging insect. A waiver was requested on his behalf by the USAFA but has now been denied As of today. There is a 7 day period in which we can submit an appeal to the waiver denial. Can we appeal!? What would you recommend to an appeal to this!?
Could a plan of action for venom immunotherapy from an allergist be submitted and be submitted!?
Attending the USAFA is a dream of his and has been since he was little. Would there be any chance to appeal!?

Mr. Mullen has been off the forums for while dealing with the backlog at DoDMERB. See the below thread for more information.

As a candidate, I am not sure what the best course of action is. However, since it is approximately 5 months until I-Day and Closer to 3 months until National Decision Day, I am not sure if starting venom immunotherapy now would be sufficient for DoDMERB or USAFA.
