Hi,

I recently was put in for a waiver in early December for USMA regarding counseling sessions - approximately how long does it take for a waiver to be approved/disapproved?

Thank you

I'm trying to make sure I understand timing here. I think I've read all of the background stuff. If you are DQ'd and you earn a conditional appointment from the academies, you have until April-May or so to get a waiver? If your waiver is still pending at that time, your appointment is revoked? For AROTC, is the timeline similar? I imagine you could still attend your AROTC school without a scholarship and reapply for a 3 year scholarship if your waiver is delayed beyond the start of school. Just trying to be sure I understand the timelines.

A = The information/decision is an Admissions decision

Q = For AROTC, is the timeline similar?
A = No....but you can't be contracted and start receiving scholarship $$$ until waiver is granted and you are contracted:wiggle:

DS was DQ’d by DoDMERB for peanut allergy at 13 months. USMA requested a waiver. DS completed and fully passed the SPT, IgE and oral consumption today, YEA!!! He emailed all the documents requested back to the DoDMERB POC. Now the wait…🤞🤞. I’m hopeful he’ll get the waiver, but I thought that when we sent all the requested documents in on initial DoDMERB request. Now we just hope the wait isn’t too long. This is the only hoop he hasn’t jumped through to be fully 3Q qualified? Wish him good LUCK, a speedy reply from DoDMERB with a granted medical waiver. I wonder what the turn around is before he hears anything good

Is there any where to "check" on a waiver? My waiver was only requested Jan 14th and I stalk dodmerb daily but is there somewhere else I should be looking?

KSBoyMom= Ya gotta love it. {Answering him now}

"Sir,
My mother asked me to send this email to you regarding my waiver status and time frame.
Thank you for your assistance." :yikes:

I have a medical DQ for two conditions. USMA has notified me they are pursuing waiver. Both conditions will require records to be submitted at some point. Should I go ahead and post the medical history/documents up at DoDMERB to speed up the process. USMA has stated a "90 day waiver process time" but letter dated 2/10 and deadline 4/15, that is not enough time. So I want to do all I can to help the process along.

My DS’s application to USMA is still in the “Under Waiver Review” for a medical DQ. He is trying to be patient, but USMA’s website says that if he hasn’t heard anything in 90-120 days that he should reach out to Admissions. He is coming up on the 120 day mark of the Under Waiver Review status and has submitted everything requested by DoDMERB and USMA. He has a Nomination, an LOA, and passed his CFA. He has all Green Check marks in his portal. We completely understand that Admissions and everyone at USMA is extremely busy, but we don’t know who he should contact directly or what he should do next. Does anyone have ideas? Is there a way to contact @MullenLE to get answers? Thanks.
