I received my DODMERB DQ over a month ago now, and I have heard nothing about any academies requesting a waiver on my behalf. I would guess that this is because my "history off" dq is not often (if ever) considered for a waiver, however since I believe the initial diagnosis to have been inaccurate, I am curious as to how to proceed from here. I am 100% good on all of the listed "generalized waiver criteria" listed on the DODMERB sight, but I have a suspicion that my file will never make it to the consideration phase. My individual circumstance is a niche one, I just hope the system can evaluate my situation and not just toss the file because of the "history of".

If a waiver will not be considered for my specific DQ, is it possible to challenge the DQ itself?
What is the process for a possible misdiagnosis? I have heard that the original doctor who issued the diagnosis is required to state it was incorrect, but that doctor has not seen me since that initial diagnosis and "cannot comment on my condition."

My understanding is the reason for the DQ has no bearing on whether a waiver review is requested. The waiver review is considered for those applicants considered competitive for appointment so if a waiver has not been requested it’s not about your DQ.

Mr Mullen may respond here - he can confirm or may have more info for you. Good Luck!
