Walk in for a DoDMERB physical?

My son received his letter from DoDMERB to call and schedule his eye exam and medical physical. He called the eye doc and made an appointment with no problem. When he called to schedule the medical physical with a Concentra clinic, he was told that he did not need to make an appointment, that those were done on a walk in basis. Has anyone else run across this? It seems kind of odd that this level of exam would be on a walk in basis...? Any thoughts? He doesn't want to mess this up and the DODMETS web site has told him to enter his appointment dates & times.

I would enter the date and time he intends to walk-in and not worry about it. It's a pretty quick exam. Just make sure it's after the eye exam.

Good advice from the earlier poster. Good luck!

The Concentra clinic my daughter went to for her physical was the same way. We had no issues, like the previous poster said go ahead input into DODMETS your expected date and time.

Wow! When did DODMERB start using these Concentra clinics?

My oldest DS went through the DODMERB process in 2002, and we had to drive 200 miles to a Naval Air Station (Lemoore CA) and stay at a hotel to get his examination.

I do not know when they started using them and it is not every facility. We have one within a half a mile of our home but she was required to go to one 40 miles away. It must be only certain ones are contracted.
