And there in lies the rub. It never does! SO many transactions (we pay for every part as we go, neither of us wanted a large parts bill looming at the end of each month) and so I have to clean it up each month. Not horrible, but I have fallen astray. My personal checkbook hasn't been balanced in decades and it's fine.If the bank balance says what your checkbook says, you don't need to balance it. I stopped doing that 20 years ago.

I ran the finances for a Legion Post for almost 7 years and used Quickbooks. One of the features of Quickbooks was a built-in account balancing routine that allowed me to balance the account fairly easily whenever the bank sent a statement. Due to how liquor and beer companies set out their wholesalers, we had a fair number of suppliers and lots of deliveries and payments that we made every month.And there in lies the rub. So it is with even more chagrin that I admit to having Quickbooks for the business and still, I am behind in reconcilliations.
