Was notified while I was at the legion post! Very excited and honored to be selected to attend!

I was able to apply to SLE and was wondering of my competitiveness!

Weighted GPA: 97.7/100
Unweighted GPA: 91.5/100
ACT (My worst part tbh): 26
Course Load: Literally haven't taken a standard core class ever, AP/IB/Honors
Top 11% of my class, went to an extremely well scoring school for academics.

Soccer: One year at my high school, I played club soccer at a D1 competitive level for an elite German team (Bayern Munich) was selected for team of the week two times. Was captain.
Band: Three years, made all-state, all-region, first chair concert and jazz as well as pit orchestra. I have three varsity letters.
Indoor Drum-line: 3 years, held a variety of leadership positions, technology consultant, (Leadership roles) ALSO, my drum-line is top five in the world.

-Helped create a club dedicated to improving student morale
-Am the president of a club dedicated to helping military students integrate in to my high school (Starts next year, I have full support of my administration)

-Tri-M music honors society
-Was in FFA (I moved states after sophomore year)

Worked a job as a barista for 30+hours a week

I selected week two for my preference, also applied to Navy and Coast Guard (Guess my top pick lol, go army!) I'm also the only one applying from my highschool!

Thanks :)

I would personally say that SLE is more of a recruiting tool than anything else. I was not selected for SLE last year... but today I accepted my appointment to USMA.

Either you get in or you don’t. If you don’t, do not be discouraged. Continue to work hard academically and physically.

Congrats as well on Boys State. Nice bump to your WCS for the academies and it is a great experience overall.
Good luck!

Congrats on boys state. My DS went to boys state, never applied for SLE (coincided with scout philmont trip). Is currently at WP.

Congrats on Boys State. Our son did STEM, not selected for Summer Seminar at USNA and was offered appointment. Great advice above to not be discouraged if you don't get into SLE. Boys State, I believe helped our son immensely and it was the highlight for him of his high school experiences.
