Watch suggestions for Norwich

Hello, any advice on practical watches for incoming Rook? I'm thinking as a HS graduation gift. DS doesn't typically wear a watch, but I'm thinking this may be a good for him. Thanks in advance.

Before leaving for Norwich Rook year, my son bought a very nice Swiss Army watch. When he got to Norwich, his cadre told him not to wear it during Rookdom. He had to order a cheap-ish digital watch like a low level G-shock that could get trashed or lost in the field with no worries. So any nicer watch will not see much use till after Rookdom.

Update…the actual watch he purchased for Rookdom was the Shark watch by Freestyle.

Yes, as Rooks can’t have their phones on them, which is how we are so used to telling time these days. Gotta get to class, formation, chow etc on time.
