Does USAFA do waves of appointments or just trickle them out. If it is waves historically when will the next one come out? Also, does anyone know what day their admission board meets?
Good one! The waiting is definitely difficult. We have a plan B at least. DS received AFROTC scholarship. Just waiting to hear on acceptances ( hopefully) from 2 more colleges .Perhaps those waves just trickle out? (OK OK... I know. But it was funny in my own mind)
The big wave will come around March, though they have been trickling out for some time.
Waiting is difficult, no?

I couldn't smother my DS even if I tried. My oldest is home, commuting to college so this will be a new experience for us. This DS is already preparing us for his future departure ( where ever he may end up). Some days we are lucky to catch a glimpse of him between school, after school activities, sports, the girlfriend.......etc. Once that drivers license was in his hand ( and the GF was in the picture) he embraced his freedom and is taking full advantage.Moms and Dads and students... RELAX. I promise! You will (somehow) make it through.
And try not to be smothering parents while your son or daughter, on the cusp of adulthood, tries to figure out his/her best path to the desired future (which may change, even before April!).
Just wait till he goes to UPT! If you hear from him during the week, you cringe because you know, just know, something is wrong. And when they deploy, well, it's even more catch - as- catch -can.Some days we are lucky to catch a glimpse of him between
I know you have the experience so I value your opinions and statements. I understand you were speaking to all. We have been trying to get used to his lack of communication--unless he needs something! I can't imagine not hearing from him for weeks! That will be tough. We can only hope for that as it will mean that he achieved his goal of an appointment. However it works out for him, he has accomplished so much already and we can't ask for more. We are trying our best to have as much time with him..even a meal.., but my never hungry son ( really ...2 teen boys who are never hungry???!!!) is hard to pin down these days.*mom2mnem, of course I was not speaking to your personally there, but to parents in general. Just the voice of experience here.

Enjoy your son's journey (and try to have a meal or two with him!)
