Anybody knows how the WCS is calculated and what USNA's score range is?

Deeply held secrets; but please keep in mind that a vote is actually taken on all candidates so some subjectivity enters into the selection process as well.

There's a video of USNA on YouTube and it shows the board actually meeting. Someone goes through your package and discuss the highlights and then the board votes, green=yes, red=no and yellow=hold until next board/wait list. From what they discussed it seemed to be leadership, sports, community service, grades and test scores and not necessarily in that order.

Following is a post from an earlier thread on tge subject, not sure if it is entirely accurate, but it gives an idea of what is most valued. I was surprised by how little GPA seems to count, but if you combine class rank and grades i guess it would reflect your competitiveness in HS.

Academic (60%)
Class Rank (15)
SAT Score (35)
High School Grades (10)
Extra points for valedictorian/salutatorians/national merit scholar/national honor society,

Leadership (30%)
School leadership – extra points for class or student body president
Athletic Participation – Team captain status important
Team sports valued higher than individual sports
Faculty evaluations
Extra Curricular Activities - eagle scouts, newspaper/yearbook editor, debate

Fitness (10%) - Candidate Fitness Analysis

That video is VERY VERY old (take it all with a grain of salt). When I was applying, it was on a CD that they use to give to candidates and even when I applied it was old. Some of the Admissions Board principles are the same and some have changed.
