We are waiting on NROTC first board results...are you?

Is ND his top choice? If so I would have your DS reach out to his Admissions officer and let him/her know about that NROTC and that ND is his first choice to see if they would recommend, EA. Our DD had the same ACT as your DS2, applied EA since she knew she was not going to improve her file and then alerted her admissions rep about being awarded the NROTC Scholarship there. She was accepted EA. The former PNS said that based upon their relationship with the university, if there are 2 similar applicants, the school will give the admissions nod to the NROTC scholarship winner and being an early winner can influence admissions.
Talked to admissions office, our admissions officer suggested that he retake the ACT in December and apply Regular Decision so that is what we are going to do. Worst case scenario he applies regular decision with the 32 or he improves the ACT score. Did find out that the unit has quite a few siblings (coincidence? - not certain, but hoping it helps that his brother is currently in the Unit). Worst worst case scenario, if he doesn't get into his first choice school, he has an Ivy League that already told him to contact their Admissions Office to let them know he has the scholarship..they've reached out to him several times....and his third choice school that I'm not at all worried about admissions has a very good NROTC program that we could request a transfer to. I would have preferred EA but am reluctant to go against the Admissions Officer's advice.

Anyone have their app still at NSTC for additional processing? I was done applying in late september and I thought I would be ready for the second board. Looking at this thread it seems that that already happened. My app never has changed to "board ready" or whatever. Anyone know what's up? Thanks

Everything was complete including interview by mid-July.
Thank you and good luck. My son had everything in, in late August and interviewed early September. Hoping to hear something soon. Had to make some revisions hopefully they were updated, he said his interview was good. Actually lasted about an hour. Not sure his essay was where it should have been, he went to edit it and was sent before he did so. Grades , scores ect.. all good . Lots of praying.

My DS was informed today. 4 Year NROTC Scholarship to first choice: Duke. Congratulations to everyone!
When did your son apply and if you don't mind me asking was his sat over 1300 , I keep hearing how they have increased their expectations for the sat scores. Very nervous mom, lol. Was his portal changed or did he receive an e-mail? And Congtatulations!!! So happy for you and your son.
