We got our first piece of mail from our son today and we couldn't wait to open it up!!! He is happy, finding KP to be challenging but exhiliarating. He says he wants letters from "the guys", misses certain homecooked meals but likes the food and wants protein bars we used when camping. I won't bore you with the rest, as if I haven't already. But, he was able to send something out last Friday (today is Thursday). HOW SO QUICKLY? I self addressed and stamped envelopes with our names and addresses, stuffed them with a personalized-form "check off letter" with comments/questions he could check off no, yes, etc to, to let us know how he is doing. We couldn't be happier with the short info. It feels like Christmas. I know we have it easier than those in WWI WWII and Korean and Vietnam-no email, skype. I can only appreciate even more what our former & present military have gone through without the almost immediate communication we have the luxury of having.
