Hi - I'd been emailing a couple other parents about this and figured there might be others who would want to know. When I'd been checking the website to register (and pay) for WebGuy, it has shown in the past that it would be set up to take new registrations on June 1. Meanwhile, in our appointee packet, it had a form you could fill out and mail in along with a check. I was hesitant to do that, since I didn't know then how I'd set up the account online.

So I called AOG yesterday to ask. They told me that they had just upgraded the website so that you could join online now. I was able to go in and do so, and start looking at pics (no, my son isn't in them yet! ). But I was trying to figure out if I could copy them to share with the grandparents, etc. so it was nice to find my way around the site a bit now.

I paid for the AOG with the appointee packet because I am not as smart as Marciemi. Now I think I have to wait to get an AOG membership number. I sent an email to webguy but haven't heard back yet. Will report when I do.

pictures off of webguy

There are a couple ways to get the pictures off of Webguy to send to grandparents, but you could also give the grandparents your access id & pw to let them get into the site themselves.
Webguy will try to tag the pictures by BCT squad if he can. When he does that and you can access larger pictures of just your squad and it's easier to go thru them. The page looks blank but scroll down a bit and you'll get larger pics.

Then right mouse click on the picture and you can "save image as" or "copy".

If you find the picture in the 1000's of smaller photos, we had a convoluted way to save a picture:
we would click on the thumbnail and make it larger,
then we'd do CTRL + print screen, (make sure you do it when there aren't arrows on the picture)
then open powerpoint,
right mouse click and paste it into powerpoint.
Then we'd crop it to get out all the other background stuff.
After that you could right mouse click and do "save as picture" and put into jpeg version.
Long process but it worked for us.

Cadet wing media also takes pictures you can access.

This only works if you have grandparents who are even remotely competent on a computer! Every time I send anything to either set I get a reply back "we couldn't open it/get it to work". Seems like the only thing I can do is put pictures directly into emails or to load them on photobucket and send them a slide show (don't know why this works and nothing else does).

What I was doing when playing with it was right clicking on the thumbnail, then putting "open link in a new window/tab" and then it would just let me save it directly as a jpeg. Then I could use my regular photo editing program to cut out or do whatever I wanted with it (load it on facebook or photobucket, etc.).
