I logged into DoDMerb today to see if there was any status updates on my pending waiver, and I was met with a blank “applicant data” box showing my SSID with two commas above it. Does anyone know if this means anything? Or is this perhaps a bug from earlier today’s maintenance?

These are Not highly available systems, like for example Amazon, which would loose money in the Hundreds of Millions if it where Down for Business. This is why Amazon Mirrors data across regions for resiliency and performance, and backs it up for Disaster recovery.
This is a small fry Database operation, so any Down Time for maintenance has little consequence (No Revenue Lost) …. but it can certainly confuse eager USNA candidates.
Don't worry. It will be back up soon after the maintenance …. probably DB backups and Rebuilding indexes (maybe).
