My DS' portal was updated this AM to show an appointment to USNA.

I just wanted to say thank you to all who have put up with my incessant questions and such. I think I've been more nervous than he was.

I've always wanted one of my kids to go to a SA, but never really said anything as I felt it was their choice. He was not even remotely pushed, in fact I played devil's advocate on a couple of occasions to his annoyment (I know that's not actually a word). I even encouraged him to pursue a basketball scholarship to a D3 school (He's not quite D1 material as of now). But he wouldn't have it, this is what he wants.

Anyway, I'm one proud pop today!

Way to go!!

Congratulations Coach62 to your DS! Good news indeed to watch the c/o 2020 form!

Congrulations Coach62 to your DS and to you and your family!! What a wonderful pre New Year's gift! In our household we are playing it "cool" while waiting...enjoying our holiday time with DS a college reapp with everything in and complete. Again, congrats!

If you don't mind, when did your DS complete her application? When did she get a nom? And did she have an LOA?

I'm just trying to figure out a generic time line. Thank you.

He completed it just a couple of months ago, he kept tweaking it. He had an LOA early, but as everyone will tell you don't count on an LOA, they aren't common at all. Just got the NOM last Monday.

The only reason he has an appt this early is because of the LOA. Most won't go out for some time.

How did he "keep tweaking it"? What specifically did he do to keep tweaking? Thanks in advance!

Nothing in particular. He just wanted to submit it on the late side to make sure it was 100% up to date, took the ACT once more to get one of his scores up, got in some more volunteer hours, had me proof his written stuff and suggest changes. Things like that. I think he got it in late Sept. If I recall correctly.

Congratulations Coach. I absolutely know how you are feeling right now. Good for your DS. Keep us posted on USAFA too. Cheers!

Oh the fun you will have. Now the easy part is over! Congrats and good luck to your soon to be plebe!

congrats! These next 4 years will be quite a roller coaster for both you and your mid but it will be an adventure to remember

Congrats! Great idea to keep "tweaking." My son submitted his PRT scores via his coach back in August, but worked very hard on it and substantially increased all his scores by December (maxing out on most of them) and having it resubmitted. Hopefully that will help for the upcoming reviews.
