West Point Football Prayer

This is pathetic. This is America, and as Ronald Reagan once said, "If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under."
My perspective: Mickey Weinstein is a pathetic wind-bag. What a lousy example of a SA graduate... and what a shame.

“We establish no religion in this country. Church and state are, and must remain, separate. We in the United States, above all, must remember that lesson, for we were founded as a nation of openness to people of all beliefs. And so we must remain. Our very unity has been strengthened by our pluralism. We establish no religion in this country, we command no worship, we mandate no belief, nor will we ever. Church and state are, and must remain, separate. All are free to believe or not believe, all are free to practice a faith or not, and those who believe are free, and should be free, to speak of and act on their belief.” -

Ronald Reagan, 1984 (an election year!)

Just imagine the frothing manufactured outrage if Hillary Clinton said those exact same words today!

"Republicans, who have long deified the former president will not be happy to learn he was not the religious fundamentalist they want to remember him as. While he did regularly pay favors to the growing religious right, this quote solidifies the stance he had, and the one the government has always had, keeping church and state separate."

Boy, that Ronald Reagan was a real disgrace to Christendom. Hell, he overturned Jimmy Carter's ban on alcohol at White House functions, was America's only divorced chief executive, signed the most liberal abortion rights law in the pre-Roe v. Wade era when he was governor of California, wrote a 700-page autobiography after leaving the presidency & never mentioned abortion or Jesus once & was known to almost never went to church.

And played weekly poker games with House Speaker Tip O'Neill (a Satan-worshiping liberal Democrat from Cambridge).

Another sad example of the appalling lack of common sense, political correctness and steady march to destruction of our society. The government and liberal politicians pander to every special interest group with an agenda whether they make sense or not, one persons objection to anything forces everyone to suffer.
The horror, the horror.

Ok..... maybe next time try a condensed version?
Here's my response: It's freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. If you don't like a prayer, use the time to meditate... then drive on!
Weinstein deserves a mule kick... along with Kaepernick.
...but that's just my $.02

Well, the court opinion changes http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2016/09/19...of-christian-prayers-led-by-n-c-county-board/

Appeals Court Upholds Constitutionality of Christian Prayers Led by N.C. County Board

In a 2-1 vote, the Fourth Circuit on Monday overturned Judge Beaty’s ruling. Wrote Circuit Judge G. Steven Agee for the majority:

The record in this case reflects that the Board’s prayer practice did not stray across this constitutional line of proselytization or disparagement…The content of the commissioners’ prayers largely encompassed universal themes, such as giving thanks and requesting divine guidance in deliberations. References to exclusively Christian concepts typically consisted of the closing line, such as “In Jesus’ name. Amen.”… Such prayer comes nowhere near the realm of prayer that is out of bounds under the standards announced in Town of Greece.
