Thought I would go ahead and introduce myself. I am a 1998 grad from West Point. Served as an Infantry officer. After a catastrophic injury, I went to work in the nonprofit sector supporting veterans with spinal cord injury. I am happy to be a resource for anyone going through the West Point process or to anyone leaving the military.

I have been following the forums for several months as my son has worked through the West Point application process. We were excited to learn yesterday that my son has received an offer of admission for the class of 2025. I assume it is one of the Presidential nomination appointments. He had nominations for JROTC and SC for my service injury. He has yet to hear from any of his congress members about noms (although I guess that doesn't matter now).

By the way, we are in VA-01.

Welcome and congratulations to your son and the family.

If you haven’t done do already, head on over to the USMA Class of 2025 appointment thread and update the list.

Your own experience and your son’s will be most welcome here.

Just jumped on that thread and updated. Glad to be hear and excited to have my son carry on. Honestly one of the purest moments of joy I have ever had.

Congratulations and welcome. Thank you for serving and raising your son to understand service before self. Get ready for more moments of joy and pride (along with some parental: worry along the way.) Enjoy your remaining time with your son because time will go by too fast!

Yup, I teared up reading @USMAZoo98 describing 'purest moments of joy'. Welcome and congratulations to your son and for you and his mom to have raised a young man willing to serve.
