My DS just got an email invitation and RSVP'd for a West Point Information session in Philly on Dec. 13th. He has his nomination and is almost finished with his application. Just one more SAT test for the writing section. The invite says to bring parents and family. Has anybody been to one of these information sessions ?

Yes, we have been to a meeting in our area. It was conducted by the RC of our region. Since my DD is a junior, it was more of a info session. But I guess if you are that far in your application process, it’s worth going and asking him your application specific questions.

My DD was interested but alas we have TSO concert tickets that night... USNA is also having one in Philly that night at Franklin Institute (going to the one Saturday instead).

Any suggestions on what to wear ? Suit and tie, business casual, head to toe black and gold ?

When my DS had a very informal meeting with his FFR he wore a suit. The next hopeful candidate wore shorts and a tee. FFR said to my DS, thank you for dressing well, it shows interest and respect.
Wearing a suit is never a bad idea. As they say...dress for the job you want, not the one you have.

Dress in our area was all over the board but mostly nice jeans/shirt to business casual with outliers on both ends of the spectrum.

We attended 2 in our area. DS wore a suit. It is another opportunity to learn, and to make an impression on your Regional Counselor. Our DS said it was nice to meet someone in person who he had been communicating with via email. Lots of good info, and you can review your application with them. We met and spoke with other parents and other applicants. He later ran into some of those applicants at MOC interviews.
