West Point Nomination worries

my MOC had interviews about 1 and a half weeks ago for nomination. my congressional district had a total of 25 people apply for a nomination to the various academies with West Point having less than 10 people applying. I talked to my MOC's senior advisor in charge of nominations and said that I should hear back before the 31st whether I received one or not, but the deadline is closing fast and Im super worried I may not hear back. Other than missing a nom, I'm 3Q for WP, just waiting to hear back. If the academy doesn't hear from an MOC for nom by the 31st, is it the end of the road for me?

yes, I applied for senatorial nom, but didnt get one, also applied for VP

If there were less than 10 applying and you are 3Qd, why wouldn’t you get a nom? I understand it could theoretically happen....but can’t figure out a good reason why it would...

It’s not yet the 31st, so your MOC still has time to submit to USMA and to notify you. If you don’t get a nom, your prospects diminish but don’t necessarily disappear. If an SA really wants a candidate, they’ll find a nomination for them. Happens every year.

Thats exactly my thought, but I find it alarming that my MOC has waited so long to nominate the candidates. To my knowlege, a lot of people have already recieved noms for the SA's, but I could be wrong

Yes, but often deadlines drive actions. Nominations are vital to you at this point but just one of the many MOC competing demands. Keep your chin up and keep marching forward.

Congratulations to you! Such a wait to hear. We were lucky to find out DS had noms Dec. 16, 17, and 18. A great 3 days in December. Celebrate your accomplishment and settle in for the ride. 👍

Congrats. How do you know how many applicants there were in your district? Does the MoC tell you that?

Rejection letters from Senators had rough #s... “in excess of 1,000 applicants”. MOC was more generic - “many qualified applicants”.

Less that 10 applied for nom to USMA, I think 5 because he said a total of 25 people applied for SA's. My district is particularly competitive for USAFA and USNA, I assume he maxed out on those noms, but he didn't fill out all of his WP noms
