Hello, I am trying to get qualified for my name to be given to DoDMERB. The test score I think will qualify me was sent a week ago. How long does it take for USMA to see it and when can I expect an email from DoDMERB if it does qualify me? Thank you!

Are all other items on your Candidate Checklist green?

Once USMA decides your application is ready, you will be sent a link to DoDMETS which is managed by CIV. They will help you determine how and where to schedule your optometry and medical exam. Once you schedule and complete your exams, you can follow status on DoDMETS.

You will also need to open a DoDMERB account to be able to see when DoDMETS passes your file to DoDMERB.

Good luck!

In my candidate portal I have everything completed except for CFA and a teacher evaluation. Will that affect anything?

You can ask here, but you also have the ability to email or call your regional admissions officer. Do not feel like 'showing your interest' is a bad thing...you don't want to call but letting them know that you have submitted adequately high SAT scores and are hopeful for your DODMERB request to initiatived would demontrate that you are carefully monitoring this process and aware of the steps.

Great advice by DrMom as always.

From experience with our USMA applicants, a successfully completed CFA is usually a major trigger. Good luck to you.

I am in the same boat as you wondering how dodmerb works
Have you gone to the DoDMERB website and read the landing page, as well as every item in the left-side menu, including Contacts? Good way to learn about the process at the primary source. DoDMERB is the Defense agency responsible for determining if candidates meet/do not meet the military medical accession standard. Pro tip:The DoDI link for the standard is in that DoDMERB menu.

Have you gone to the DoDMETS site to familiarize yourself there? They are a contractor to DoDMERB to manage the field med and eye exam process and gather info for your DoDMERB case file.

Be sure to check your spam folder regularly.

Don’t try to create a DoDMERB login before you are accepted into DoDMETS. Two different logins anyway.

Just for fun, in case the “start your DoDMERB process” email goes astray, you can try the first-time login to DoDMETS. If you can get in, that means DoDMERB got the request from the SA (or ROTC) to start you, and downloaded your info to DoDMETs. If you can’t get in, that hasn’t happened yet.

Get everything done early. It's just puts you ahead of the others that don't. And, if you don't pass CFA, it will give you time to train and retest. Also, retake the SAT in October. And then again in Nov. if necessary. You need a more competitive score. And, they really like to see you are studying and going at the test again and again. SAT score and GPA is 60% of admissions. The math portion in particular. In general, they are looking for 700 or above. It's the divider. GPA's are often inflated, so the SAT math score is the first thing they are looking at.

The only other thing I would add is try the ACT and see how you do on that. DD retook SAT 2x then took ACT 1x and her scores on ACT were very nice.
