What aspect of the sat do they look at the most? I didn't do very well on the writing section of the sat, will that hurt my application? Also what do they weigh more heavily, class rank, GPA or the SAT score? Thanks!

Math and Critical Reading are the two most important sections on the SAT (Math and English on the ACT). Writing is required, but I don't believe it is heavily weighted.

Class rank and ACT/SAT scores are weighted more heavily than gpa, although gpa is important.

I have been told by academy liaisons on several occasions that your math score caries the most weight. Performing below a 600 in ANY section is no bueno and I would recommend trying again after studying.

Your SAT score will carry the most weight; it is a way for the academies to grade everyone equally (classes and difficulty in high school differ greatly amongst schools; However, the SAT does not).
