I have applied for the AROTC Scholarship and was moved through to the 2nd Board. I would appreciate any insight or information that you can provide. I really enjoy reading these threads as they have been very helpful throughout this process. My credentials:

3.6 G.P.A
28 Composite ACT
3 A.P. Courses
3 Dual-Enrolled College Courses
4 years Varsity Track
2 Years Varsity Swimming
1 Year Varsity Cross Country
President of Spanish Club and Key Club
NHS Member

My first choice is Michigan State (already accepted) and then Purdue, Illinois, Virginia Tech.

Thanks everyone!

That looks solid, but then so do your competitor's resumes. Which of those schools is in-state?

Sorry, Michigan State is my in state choice. I have also applied for USMA and have received my congressional nomination and have taken and passed DoDMERB.

Thanks again,

I would think you have a strong chance for admittance to VT, but understand VT is an SMC and you are an OOS applicant for AROTC scholarship, those 2 things will be factors for a ROTC scholarship. I am not sure that as an OOS candidate it is a strong chance for VT ROTC scholarship.

Admittance is not necessarily a sign that you will get a ROTC scholarship. VT gives an edge for applicants that will be in the Corps. You can't be in ROTC and not in the Corps. It ia 2 different worlds regarding scholarship and admissions.
