What boots should I buy my DS to get his feet ready for cadet basic training? Thanks in advance.

Wait for the boot memo that gives the authorized boots for CBT and search boots on this forum. You’ll get lots of thoughts and opinions. My vote is always Nike for garrison (not usually on the memo and allowed during CBT) and Belleville for the field/flight duties. Try before you buy if you can and spend a while breaking them in gradually.

Thank you for the information.

Mine wore and still wears Danner's and loves them. They also weren't on the boot memo last year and were allowed.

I recommend the Garmont NFS and Belleville AMRAPs. Both have served me well and work for all circumstances.

In past years only about three models of boots were allowed for CBT, but it appears this changed last year. Wait for guidance, however. I know it is exciting and that you may want to jump in and buy everything.

Boots are very “personal”. What works for one person may kill the feet of another person. And one thing you don’t want to mess with are your feet.
When the memo comes out try to get someplace where you can try on all the boots. Wear the socks you think you will primarily wear. Don’t skimp. If the more expensive pair feels better, get them.
DD and DS had their “Beast” boots that they primarily wore in Beast. By the end they were about done.

A current West Point cadet gave me the website uspatriottactical.com to buy boots. They have a lot of variety in us army grade boots and if you don’t like the boots/they don’t fit you can return them and get a refund. But I also agree with the advice that you should wait until the boot memo is posted.
