What did you get for Christmas?

Moultree deer feeder, new tennis shoes, and two mineral licks, also for the deer.

So grateful for health and family and DS getting his dream come true- a Full Appointment to CGA!

As a side note though my favorite tangible gifts were:

An Astro C40 Controller (I'm a geek)
Polk Center Channel Speaker for my A/V System (upgrade to replace my OLD Bose Center

From wife: Air Buds-I can't wait to walk around school with them like the students do. Two Nerf guns with extra darts. Another Bama hoodie and
t-shirt.
From daughter: Yeti coffee cup and lunch box.
From son: cash $$$$$

I received the best gift ever...a Christmas visit from my Plebe DD.

Even though I paid for it, the experience makes me believe there really is a Santa Claus. :)

New pair of cowboy boots (should serve me well at Ole Miss) and a Yeti jug 😍

Hydrate or die-drate as the kids say

Chef’s table reservations and overnight stay at The Inn at Little Washington in a few months for me (and DH, of course).

We gave ourselves matching mini drones to check the annual small toy block. DH got Navy plaid Go Navy pj bottoms (from the dogs). Dogs gave me Navy earmuffs.

My oldest son leaves for basic Feb 4th ( Air National Guard). Middle son is a youngster at USNA, my baby is a senior awaiting word on an appointment (sure...send him prayers/vibes if you wish!!) 🤞🤞. I also lost my father unexpectedly recently end of October. So it’s been hitting me a little lately that these times of family gatherings are dwindling, and things can change in a minute.

My best gift, the “cry gift” was a surprise family photo shoot. All coordinated (literally...neutrals!) and put together by my oldest child, my daughter. Problem was I kept tearing up. They are fantastic and the love is captured so well in the images by the photographer.

My DD for sure won best child this year, she is my favorite (running joke in our family is I tell them ALL they are my best and favorite).

DS received principal nom from Senator for USNA, I bawled like a baby. He received a harmonica and it's 'holder', his request. I then received the lovely benefit of listening to him learn to play it. I kept telling myself, enjoy it, he is leaving June 23rd. He caught on pretty fast and is playing Billy Joel tunes now.
DD got me two scarves with birds on them and a bird book. Perfect for my bird watcher's soul.
DS and DD got dad an air fryer--yippee!!!
DS and DD got me a robot vacuum, not ashamed to say I spent the better part of Christmas day following it around, fascinating.
DD got Dad a Carhart sweatshirt and new boonie cap.
DD received cute clothes, soon to be son in law got accessories for his game room.
Dogs got new bones and 1 toy each, which the robot vacuum promptly ensnared.
I used kleenex a lot savoring the last Christmas before we become empty nesters.

One of my kids still has the "I was very good today" badge that I made up many years ago. I took one of the plastic name tags given out to visitors where you slip in a printed Temporary Pass that I had from a trade show and re-purposed it for wife to hang on the best (or least troublesome) child when I came back from a trip so that I could bestow appropriate praise.

I forgot to add that my uncle bought me a chainsaw and a 20oz A4 wagu ribeye. It was the best steak I have ever had in my life! Possibly better than bacon, dare I mention it.....
