What does this mean?

EXACT same thing happened to us last week. It took a couple of days for DODMERB to register as medically qualified (It went from pending/waiver review to "medical waiver granted") and now just waiting for the official portal change. We have noms and an LOA....

Congrats. Now we wait even more for the BFE and portal update :)

I assume a batch of waivers was reviewed early this week. You’re the third person on SAF who has posted of a waiver approval this week.

Does anyone know, will USNA always give the MOC a week to notify appointed candidates or does that only occur in special situations?

His MOC lost ... but she did call him and text him with the nom. He will text her the good news. But we aren’t expecting a call from her.

Nor do we care about the wait anymore.

My son is developing a list of people to send thank you letters to ... without them, he wouldn’t be here.

I am really happy for your DS and family.

I was rooting for that waiver to happen.

Congrats!

How long does it take DoDMERB status to switch
from "Not medically Qual … Does not meet accession standards …"
to "waiver granted"
…. and then received a status of "Offer of Appointment to NAPS"

Our DD received the Email letter January 16th "Guaranteed Appointment to NAPS" conditional on "Medical Qualification" required action.

Yesterday, the Required action is now "None" with no special instructions. Her application officer told her something about the waiver process several weeks back, I think.

What does this look like, and what should she expect?

If I am reading it right ... congratulations. It’s the same thing as my son.

It could take up to a few weeks to see DoDMERB change to waiver granted. My son’s changed within 15 minutes because he called DoDMERB to clarify the required action as none change. DoDMERB told him his waiver was granted and updated site right away for him.

BTW ... and FWIW (my acronyms ;) ) ... DoDMERB and admissions at Naval Academy are awesome. Our experience with them was outstanding.

I will have her call DoDMERB tomorrow … she sent by email the 2 independent Audiology Doctor results last week to her DoDMERB handler. Then, she sent the results to her USNA AO, and he got them to the Medical dept at USNA.

What is disturbing, is that the original Audiology test on her ears in early September was done on a machine that was last Calibrated more than 3 years ago. We got a copy of the exam, and on the header part that prints the test machine Model, Serial, etc … it also showed the Calibration date …. I was concerned and called a Local medical equipment servicing company, and they said the Audiology exam equipment should go through a yearly Re-Calibration test and adjustment.

Anyway, we made DoDMERB and USNA aware of this as well … Her 2 retests show that she is below all the DB Thresholds.

It sounds like everything will be good to go. Kudos to you guys for staying on top of what seems to be an error on the part of the testing facility.

My “required actions” also changed to none. USNA confirmed that this meant I have received a waiver. To provide a time frame: My portal changed Saturday or Sunday and dodmerb updated on Wednesday.
