What does "Your VP nomination has been identified to our office." mean?

Got this email message stating "Your VP nomination has been identified to our office." from the academy. What does that mean? Does it mean they received the VP nomination request or the applicant is nominated through VP nomination? I did not see the status for "Nomination received" changed to green.

Congrats on receiving a VP nomination. Give the portal a bit to update, but to my knowledge, that email does not go out unless you are a recipient of the nom.

Remember the game is to win an appointment. The VP nom can help but there is a long wait remaining.

I dont think this reads that the VP nom was charged to that candidate. To me it sounds like an affirmation that the candidate applied for the VP nom. That the SA has control over whom to use that nom for. Usually, the VP nom would be used for people unable to obtain another nomination. And slates aren’t even due yet. It is pretty early to assign the VP nom.

I tend to agree with it being rather early to charge it to a candidate, given we don't know who was not able to secure MOC noms. That said, my DS never received this notification (informationally) when he was applying, although he did apply for the nom a couple of years ago. I've also not seen anyone comment on receiving this type of letter "informationally" before. Perhaps it's a new thing? Perhaps it means more? Certainly, they only award a VP nom to someone they will appoint-- correct? Interesting!

It would be rather early however at the same time no one from the prep school (which is salty over 😥) got any kind of email about that. Almost all 68 of us applied for VP and just like last year no response.
