What Else to Pack + Bring to I-Day?

The squadron assignments for the Class of 2026 will be made on or about 10 June. PO boxes will be assigned shortly after.

I expect that if there's a customized packing list, this is when it will also be posted.

I have a question about Standard Form 600. How long back does the form have to go? Do I have to try to reach out to all of the hospitals I’ve been to throughout my life in order to fill out this form and what if I don’t remember every single time I’ve been to the hospital for any sort of checkup? (Thank you in advance to the person/people who answer my question)

Based on some prior posts, this form is not needed.

Current/former cadets/parents: On I-Day, when we hand carry all of the forms and paperwork, is it best to bring it in an envelope, or without?

What I’ve seen previously on here is to bring a Manila envelope with all your papers in it. Some people recommended reinforcing the edges/corners with clear packing tape to prevent a ripped folder and your papers going everywhere. I also saw someone recommending dividers of some sort within the folder to make it easier to find the right form/document when in a rush.

At the event that my state's parents club hosted for the appointees, several people mentioned that cough drops are very helpful for Jack's Valley. Apparently there is a condition with the very scientific name of "Jack's Hack" that plagues many basics from the dusty, dry air.

In years past, they gave you a checklist in your portal to check things off and then staple this form to the front of the manila envelope. I don’t see that this year.

So I've heard as well... I've also heard that cough drops are the closest thing that doolies get to hard candy, making them a popular item to have.

I assumed cough drops would be considered medicine and not allowed. Can we send with the appointee on I day or should they plan to purchase from c store if available?

@SpiritCommitteeLiaison
Has there been any update on when the squadrons, PO boxes, or reporting times will be assigned? My portal still doesn't list any of these items.

Anyone else able to see their addresses yet?

In another post someone mention that during a recent BCT Commanders Call one of the participants stated that on I Day the cadets will be alllowed to call home to convey their mailing address. Insinuating that it may not come prior to then. Here’s a link to that call.

Mailboxes have been posted in the portals.

I'm not sure if the I-day call is still being planned. Keep in mind that if there is a call allowed, it will be squadron dependent. Some might allow it, others will not.

If you get a call, consider it a bonus. If not, then its SOP (standard operating procedure).

Do the white t shirts have to be vneck? Is it ok if we bring the normal round collared shirts as well?

Parents if you get the call on IDay, expect there to be a lot of chaos in the background and for the call to be quick. It’s part of the shock and awe process for both cadets and parents. Know they are fine and will get through it.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure they’re meant to be undershirts for blues, which the short sleeve version of can be worn open collar, which you need a v neck shirt to do unless you want your undershirt showing.
