What Fan to Get

As long as the dimensions meet the criteria and you can keep it clean, its your preference. I saw both types in barracks.
 
I wouldnt spend too much money on one. The first week is a little crazy and things could get broken or lost. I would definitely wait until they start classes and then they should be able to figure out what they need.

One that fits the size limitations and moves a lot of air! Those barracks can get pretty hot in August. I wouldn't overthink this though and I wouldn't overspend on stuff for your room. As long as you have something to blow on you when you are laying in the rack at night, you'll be ok.
 
how about:"push air across your recumbent body while you are attempting to sleep"

DS took a fan from Target, and that worked well, because he could aim it on himself while he slept. Also, all of them in the room had one, and that pushed the air around well. The hottest time was during the day, and I have a feeling they won't be spending time there, if they can help it! :shake:
