What happens while waiting for waiver?

Son's DoDMERB is stuck in Waiver Purgatory, which I understand can take months. At this point in the admissions cycle, he does not have months to wait. From what I have read, I think there is a reasonable chance the waiver will be granted.

What happens to his file while waiting? Is it cast aside until this is resolved, or will he still be considered based on the rest of his application? How does this affect the timeline of his file being considered for admission?

His portal says that USAFA and USMA have applied for waiver on his behalf.
He has also applied for scholarships with AFROTC and AROTC.

Mr. Mullen, what an incredible service you have provided! Our DD emailed you on 2/26 with about the same question. She didn't give much context on the situation, and I know she talks to her BGO about this several times a week. She has an LOA to USNA and is awaiting next steps on any remedial information. I don't think she has yet heard back, so I am just checking to see if you still have a few emails out there???? Thank you so much for all of this.

Also, just me is correct. What I asked for was 1st intial last name and then last 4 (e.g. X1234), which would have been meaningless to anyone but me. :wiggle:​

Thank you and my mistake. I should know better! I am sure my DD will follow-up with you if she has anything additional. Her specific question was regarding next steps for the USNA process. She is off saving the world, okay, attending a "Senior Skip Day".

DS submitted the required medical documents to DoDmerb for waiver authority about four weeks ago, and was informed by his Dodmerb Medical Record Technician that the documents had been sent to the WA early last week.
DS said the Active Medical Code R259.01 reappears but without additional information being requested. Is this normal?

Asked DS to contact/check-with his technician and/or Saint Mullen yesterday but he would rather wait ;-(.
