what if Hussein becomes our next president?

Oh I can lighten up. I guess all of this is getting on my nerves because it has been going on so long now.

By the way, show me the proof that Obama is getting campaign financing from Hamas and hanging out with terrorists...Oh yeah....that proof is buried with the WMD's in Iraq!

Regarding Obama's citizenship - He was born in Hawaii and his mother was a US citizen, so what is the question? Last time I checked the US Constitution, the son or daughter of two illigal immigrants born on American soil is a US citizen. So even if you could prove his mother was not a US citizen - Obama was born in the US and is a US citizen. Did you know that McCain was born in Panama...should we question his citizenship too? I find this question absolutely ridiculous.

Luigi,
I wasn't trying to tell anyone they shouldn't call names I was just stating my opinion that I find it disrespectful. I too am proud that I live in a country where I am allowed to state my opinion in public and I won't be arrested for it. I like to think about how much Americans could accomplish if they used all that negative energy to solve some real problems.

Okay, so he is a good old American boy, maybe. Apparently his Kenyan grandmother was quoted saying he was born in Kenya.... As far as his ties with terrorists, if i were you i would be at least curious and start investigating. There are plenty of reliable sources of info out there. It takes time to read it all and do all the leg work but in the end it is our children's future that depends on it.

What gives me the creeps are his ties to some really shady personalities to say the least. (Remember Rev. Wright, Farrakhan --who believes he is the Messiah (literally), Bill Ayers, to name just a few... ) I mean, who needs enemies when you have these guys to support you? And he definitely has plans to turn the USA into a socio-communist society.
Big brother governement will take care of you from cradle to grave (that is if you are allowed to live) and will tell you what to think. Your hard earned tax dollars will be "spread around" and given to all the school dropouts who can't keep a job, but still want a nice car (they deserve it!). The state will educate your children and teach them to think correctly
And if you protest in anyway shape or form he is going to unleash his civilian troops on you (What the heck is that anyway and why do we need it? oh that's right , Obama hates our military, to him they are the embodiement of imperialist America)
For goodness sake, what is so wrong with America that we have to CHANGE it and turn it into the Soviet Union?????????????
This is still the greatest country in the world, which is why so many people risk their lives everyday to come over and would rather die than go back to their own wounderful countries.
But you know what, I believe Americans have become lazy, and very complacent and basically very ignorant when it comes to world history... They want their McDonald and their Soda, their Monday night Football and all the comfort...
Apparently they ran a survey in Iraq, over there Mc Cain has been elected president. I wonder why? do they know something we don't?
I am very, very concerned for our sons and daughters out there in uniforms. Those fine young men and women deserve better then a president who despise the country they are willing to die for!

I was just making a joke, saw it on CNN. There are ties to Suadia Arbia on funding as well.... D: I'm not a fan of McCain/Palin but its better than Obama/Biden.

^^Finally something we can agree on.

The sad thing is that Americans are not only ignorant about world history but they are ignorant about many things. Some of the things you said in your last post really make me scared for this country.

Are you serious when you say Obama would turn the USA into the Soviet Union??? I'm sorry but I do believe that all Americans should have access to health care. I also believe the rich should pay their fair share of taxes. If you want to call me a socialist...then that is your right.

I have done research regarding Obama's ties to Ayers, Rev. Wright, etc., but I don't find my facts on some wacked out extreme right wing website.

I am very, very concerned for our sons and daughters out there in uniforms. Those fine young men and women deserve better then a president who despise the country they are willing to die for!

Can you please show me where Obama said he despises the USA?

I too am very concerned for our military. I have a son at USMA and a nephew who returned last December from his second tour in Iraq. Based on my concerns I am choosing who I think can best lead this country out of all the problems we are currently faced with.

"The sad thing is that Americans are not only ignorant about world history but they are ignorant about many things."
"I also believe the rich should pay their fair share of taxes.”

What do you classify as rich?

Obama first classified rich as those making over 300,000, then 250,000, then 200,000, while his running mate said in an interview that those making over 150,000 must pay their fair share.

History has recorded former Republican President Hubert Hoover putting a huge tax increase on the wealthy, those making over 100,000. This in turn was one of the major factors that created the Great Depression. When Hoover ran for reelection Franklin Roosevelt’s running mate, John Garner said about Hoover's taxes policies as taking America down the path of socialism.

I believe history has a way of repeating itself.

Keep dropping those numbers...you're approaching my salary there...and I am by no means upper class.

I'm thinking this maybe be the last pay raise I get in awhile though. I don't think any service members are holding their breaths is it turns out one way tomorrow.

"I have done research regarding Obama's ties to Ayers, Rev. Wright, etc., but I don't find my facts on some wacked out extreme right wing website."

Of course not! You get ALL your facts from the leftist mainstream medias...

Now, where in the world did people get the idea that the rich (and i feel your pain, LineInTheSand...) should subsidise the poor??
The Bible teaches us to take care of those who cannot take care or provide for themselves (sick, elderly etc...) and i am all for that in fact it should be our business, in our community, faith based type of organizations.
But why should i go to college, loose sleep and study hard, work hard at making a living and give it away to someone else????????? Where did that idea come from?? Yeah, that is right, our good old friend the bearded one  and guess what, it does not work, it will never work. People have no incentive to work or develop businesses anymore and create employement. Why bust your back if pres. Barack takes it away, anyway??? I might as well just do the minimum.
I agree with you on the health care issue. Problem here is GREED. Everything is way to expensive because of frivoulous lawsuits so doctors are insured to the gills and they have to pay for it somehow. Health care should be very affordable and not profit run. But the answer is not universal -socialist- governement run health care.... I know what i am talking about.... you and i will loose our right to choose what is best for us and our family based on what we believe (and i am not talking about the right to kill your kids). I am talking about the right to choose my doctor, my treatment, the best hospital.
I believe in small government, freedom of entreprise, low taxation (same % accross the board, that is FAIR) and to let the people solve their own problems, especially when they are self inflicted. I don't want a free ride, they are not free and they come at a great price, but when you find out, it's too late!!

Has anyone wondered what will happened to our military if Obama is elected? Having a daughter in the service, i wonder who or what she will have to pledge allegiance to.

Look, while it's all well and good to be worried what the guy would do to the military (and I can assure you it will be NOTHING GOOD for the military), we really need to keep some perspective here.

As already mentioned, what will happen to the military is that they will all wake up the next morning, put their uniforms on, and get back to work. They're professionals. We did it when Clinton won, and they did it when Carter won. Last I checked, the military is still there and doing their jobs in their usual outstanding manner.

As for oaths, the military will continue to swear their oaths to the same thing they've ALWAYS sworn to: The United States Constitution. If an attempt to change that is ever made, then we will have far greater problems going on in this country than just some empty-suit Marxist having been elected.

So fear not. Don't let the outcome of this election chart the course of your life because in four or eight years (assuming he wins), this clown won't be around anymore while your life and that of your daughter will go on. We recovered from Clinton and we recovered from Carter (and if you are old enough to have a kid at a SA, then you're old enough to remember what a REALLY bad economy, a DECIMATED military, and REAL international disrespect for the United States looks like).

America will go on. I just hope it's one we'll still recognize when all is said and done.

Just remember one thing, though. For better or worse, we change leaders in this country via a peaceful ballot. THAT is what the military fights to defend. If we are ever destroyed, it will most likely be from within, not from without.

Obama first classified rich as those making over 300,000, then 250,000, then 200,000, while his running mate said in an interview that those making over 150,000 must pay their fair share.

And Obama has supported tax increases in the past on people making as little as 42,000, so he has long since classified me as "rich". A laughable classification, to say the least. I'm about as rich as I am Japanese: not at all.

But hey, we're talking politicians here. Since when have facts and definitions mattered to ANY of them?

I really don't want to argue anymore. I'm not going to change anybodies mind and I don't want to. I am happy that Americans are passionate about the election and going to the polls. I feel it is a privilege and a duty to vote and I don't understand why people choose not to.

My husband, who generally votes Republican, asked me a question this morning...If McCain wins will I be upset? I told him no. I think I will be disappointed but I won't be upset. I will respect the winner of the election because he was elected fairly and is my president. I am not a sore loser and I do not believe the USA will go to h*ll in hand basket if "my" candidate does not win.

If you haven't already....GO VOTE!!!!!!!!!!

I unfortunately am a sore loser.

Last week there was some polling that involved the US military.

I'm not getting the exact numbers, but 74% I believe went for Senator McCain.

That wasn't really surprising, but I thought some of the other polling was.

Of the members of the military polled, 45% said the character of the candidate was the most important factor. 12% was the economy and 11% was the war in Iraq.

That's right, the very people fighting the war believe that the character of a candidate is more important than the war. Apparently the individuals who took an oath to the Consitution value the word of an individual.

I have confidence that whichever candidate is chosen by the democratic system (although I certainly would perfer one over another), the systems of checks and balances in the Constitution will prevent any detrimental actions regarding the US military.

I'm just a bit annoyed I have to put my future in the hands of adults. I would like to see a constitutional amendment to let 17-year olds vote (of course, by the time it came into play, I would be over 18).

If we can attend the service academies to train for the US military as young as 16, why can't we help choose our commander-in-chief?

Things don't seem to be going well. I was election-judging from 6am to 8pm today, but I was in the historically most liberal district in the country, I believe.

It's over BHO just has to win califonia and that will most likely happen...

I'm watching ABC or KTSP, I get the feeling it is a bit left leaning, and I may be understating things a lot :frown:

First, yes, the military can be negatively affected by a President and Congress...and checks and balances work much better when different parties are in the different branches.

Not TOO long ago, although well before my time, our budget was so small that ships had to be pier-sided because they could afford to pay for the fuel to keep them going. They cut hours. On top of that, people weren't paid for months, and then a message went out stating that if you weren't paid in 200 (or so) days, you could seek part time work else where. Keep in mind, this is for active duty service members.

Second, I was not aware that 16 year olds could be accepted to a service academy, and I don't believe 17 year olds have been a part of society long enough, and outside of the protective wing of mom and dad to make a political choice all on their own. I'm not sure what we would gain have 17 year olds vote...just wait a year....

....and VOTE IN OFF YEAR ELECTIONS!!!

Ah! I forgot to mention the many members who were forced into early retirement!!!

Yeah, 16 year olds can be accepted as long as they turn 17 by July 1st the year they enter the academy.

:yikes:
Daughter did not sleep... watch the results... went to PT as usual, while the others slept... just like about 100 of them who are part of the DC schools battalion.
Well, we will find out soon enough what Hussein has in store for our sons and daughters...In the meantime anyone who wants to celebrate can go to Kenya and don't forget to bring a goat!:yllol:

Well, with that said I'm going to shut this down. While I'm no fan of Obama, I don't like where this is going. This is not the site for this.
